How may I help you? I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner-board-certified. My private practice is in Coolidge Corner, Brookline. I offer consultation, psychotherapy, and medication management. I started my career as a school-based support team MSW in the South Bronx. I became increasingly interested in Yoga, a Mind-Body practice that has changed my life. At fifty, I returned to graduate school for an MSN and was certified as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. My goal is to help you better manage your personal and professional challenges, experience joy, and ultimately improve the quality of your life.

I am a generalist working with adults 18+. My prescribing is client-centered and informed by the clinical standards of evidence-based practice. I have a holistic approach and use medications conservatively, encouraging alternatives to them when possible. I employ CBT for short-term treatment and psychoanalytic principles to promote insight and change.

“Life presents many choices and challenges. I offer my professional expertise to listen to your story, learn about your needs and goals, and help you make conscious choices through increased awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness. I sincerely intend to assist you in improving the quality of your relationships, work, and life. Please let me help.”

Hello, I have been working with Michael Schreiber for a couple of years in a professional capacity. I have worked with many therapists, nurse practitioners, and psychiatrists over the past 30 years and have met all different types, from top-notch to the not-so-great. I find him to be up at the top of the list when I think about what type of provider I would seek out if myself, a family member, or a friend needed help. He listens to what I have to say, is always responsive, and he takes the time to give thoughtful, thorough, and caring responses to my questions and concerns. He interjects humor and lighthearted banter into our conversations and makes me feel comfortable coming to him for assistance or guidance. I am thankful that clinicians like Michael Schreiber are around and are available to support, guide, and treat people needing his help. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a knowledgeable and caring clinician. Maureen Grant

In the Boston/Brookline, MA area, Michael Schreiber shines as an empathetic and committed psychiatric nurse practitioner. His deep knowledge of mental health, backed by extensive education and experience, stands out. More than his clinical skills, it's his natural ability to connect with people personally, making patients feel truly supported and understood, that distinguishes him.

Michael has been my provider for over 10 years; he’s worked with me and has made me feel comfortable with his care. Michael has never forced or discounted any ideas or questions I may have about medication and mental health changes. It’s a pleasure to work with Michael. I am grateful that we crossed paths at the time we do. He’s talked me off plenty of ledges and has included me in every step of this journey.

Michael and I have been working together for over 10 years. I feel Michael is kind, compassionate and very easy to share myself and my thoughts with. Michael is not an advocate of narcotics which I feel is a blessing being a recovering addict. I highly recommend anyone needing help with mental health to schedule time with Michael. Sincerely, Shelly
